It takes a village to save a child!

A photo of a tiny baby laying in a hospital crib with eyes wide in fear and pain captured the hearts of many. He had pale skin that was covered in sores and blue antiseptic.

Baby D is 12 months old. He was born with Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Hepatitis C antibodies. He and his healthy twin brother were abandoned shortly after birth and live in an orphanage.

The Baby Orphanage reached out to us asking for assistance for Baby D. He was hospitalized due to respiratory distress and they could not afford his medications.

Without medication and treatment, he would die.

We shared Baby D’s photos and story. People were moved by his plight and many shared and donated. Maya’s Hope was able to cover all the costs of his medical treatments with the help of his wonderful supporters! His fundraising page can be found HERE.

After weeks of fighting Baby D has now been cleared for discharge from the hospital! His skin is glowing and he looks much, much healthier.

It took a village to save Baby D’s life and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.
