Hello! My name is MJ Kang and I am from Ilsan, South Korea. I am a summer marketing intern for Maya’s Hope Foundation. I was drawn to the mission statement of the organization since helping children is a near and dear interest. I have been volunteering with another non-profit organization to educate young Korean adoptees for the past six years. I thought this internship would be an opportunity to take this work in new directions and gain more hands-on experience. I mostly do research and work with Maya to come up with effective marketing strategies.
I first came to the US when I was in 7th grade. I moved around a lot since I went to boarding schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. I am a rising junior at New York University, majoring in Media, Culture, and Communications and minoring in Business. I love to walk, watch movies, and eat ice cream! I am very grateful for having the opportunity to contribute to Maya’s Hope Foundation and to work with such amazing people.
