So tonight I was worried about our shippers who are based in New Jersey (who were greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy)…
I had to make a call to Bong (featured here with two of our boxes from a few weeks ago) who is always my angel in picking up boxes at all crazy hours that work with my schedule… When I checked in on him and Christine of Will Express Delivery, he said that they haven’t had power all week but they’re doing fine. He laughed and was very positive about this hurricane disaster. I told him, “well, you’re a tough Filipino. Filipinos are used to typhoons every year!” He laughed and said, “yeah, we’re used to this sort of thing.” He’s safe and sound, as well as the entire staff of Will Express Delivery.
I told him, “Don’t worry, I’m not calling to schedule a delivery, I just wanted to make sure you all were okay.” He said, “We can do a pick up on Tuesday!!!”
We are very fortunate to have such reliable shippers who are hard-working, understanding, and just plain old wonderful… When I asked what happened to their containers, he responded, “Don’t worry! Your shipment left last Friday!” The Christmas gifts will be Hurricane Sandy-free! YAY!!!!!!!! via Maya’s Hope – on Facebook
